The course is conducted through Google Meet.

The role of safety representatives and safety committee in workplaces are covered.

The Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations regarding occupational health and safety are introduced.
The main categories of occupational health and safety are discussed, including physical strain, substances and
indoor air quality, machinery and equipment, environmental factors such as noise and lighting and
social work environment, harassment, and stress. Detailed job hazard assessments are conducted,
as it is the primary responsibility of safety representatives to carry out and monitor them.

The course follows the curriculum set by Vinnueftirlitið.

The course is delivered through both distance learning and a remote lecture via Google Meet. Participants receive lectures and assignments a week before the course, which they review before completing the course via a Google Mett remote lecture.

During the remote lecture, the main topics of the course are reviewed, and the course assignments are discussed. Practical assignments are also presented during the remote lecture.
